Chris Kaipio

Whether its building up the confidence to try a harder green run, getting off the groomed and trying the powder, or refining your skills so that you can master the steeps and bowls, Chris can help you get there. There is no such a thing as the perfect turn, just as there is no right or wrong way to ski. However, there is a better way that lets you explore more terrain, feeling better about yourself, while using less energy. Chris can show you this way so that you can have the best Whistler ski experience possible!

All Levels - Chris can teach all levels from first time skiers to advanced skiers looking for adventure. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Chris can help you.

Experienced - Thirty years of ski teaching experience, with the last twenty ski seasons teaching at Whistler Blackcomb.

Certified - CSIA professionally certified Level 3 ski instructor, CSCF Level 1 coach and CASI Level 1 snowboard instructor. He is also an ACMG Hiking Guide and an RCABC Canoe Guide Instructor.

Knowledgeable -Chris has been skiing in Whistler since 1989 so he knows where to find the best runs and the best snow. It doesn't matter if you want to find the best groomed runs, find new snow in the bowls or explore the trees, Chris knows where to go.

Relaxed and Patient - Chris is easy going, friendly, patient and understanding. He likes to make things fun and relaxed, because that is the way skiing should be.

Learn Quickly - Chris focuses on making skiing easy to understand and he knows lots of short cuts so that you can improve your skiing quickly!

"After a brief conversation on the lift we identified the areas I wished to improve and then skied off the first lift with a few goals in mind. Chris provided clear and simple directions followed by adequate time for application. Because I consider myself a quick study I tried to anticipate the next moves. Chris encouraged me to master one technique at a time rather than rush ahead too quickly. By following his instruction my confidence increased with each new skill.

The reward for his step by step instruction were the tears of joy that ran down my face after getting down The Saddle successfully in control and without fear.

I trust he is a valued asset on your team and hope to see him again next year if I am blessed enough to return to your mountain."

"Thank you for your skill and patience in getting the Wace family skiing.  We really appreciated your calm, friendly manner and help with the whole exercise.  It was meant to be fun and it was, thanks in large part to your good self."
